What we collect on this site

This site has no form and collects no email address. It reads the page you came from (referrer) and the campaign parameters (UTM) of your visit, so we know which channels work.

The landing site sets no cookies. It keeps the referrer and campaign parameters, and a random visitor identifier for analytics, in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab. When you follow a Get started link, the referrer and campaign parameters are added to that link, so the app can read them.

We also measure page views on this site and clicks on a Get started link. They are handled by PostHog on EU servers and tied only to that random identifier. Each analytics request carries your IP address, which PostHog uses to derive a country-level location. No cookies are set.

What we collect in the app

When you create an account, we store your account email (via Clerk, our sign-in provider) and the trading data the product shows you: account nickname, broker server, login number, balance and equity snapshots, open positions, trades, webhook payloads and their traces.

Your broker password is not part of that list. You type it on your own PC; Windows encrypts it there and it never reaches our servers.

We also measure how the app is used: page views and a handful of product milestones (sign-up, device paired, trading account active, first signal, first trade). They are tied to your workspace and your account email and handled by PostHog on EU servers. Page views sent from your browser carry your IP address, which PostHog uses to derive a country-level location. No cookies are set. The sign-up milestone carries the referrer and campaign parameters from the link you followed. The app keeps them in your browser’s session storage until your account exists.

What our Chrome extension handles

Our Chrome extension shows the recovery factor of a strategy on TradingView chart pages. It works on its own: it needs no Hookmode account and it is not connected to the Hookmode app.

What it reads: the Total P&L and Max drawdown numbers of the strategy report, the symbol, the data provider and the timeframe of the chart, and the text of the Pine Script that is open in the Pine editor.

What it stores: the ratios, the two numbers, the time, the script text, the symbol, the data provider and the timeframe of the chart, the path of the chart page they belong to (the part of the address that names your chart layout), and your panel settings. All of it stays in Chrome on your computer.

What it sends: nothing. The extension has no server, makes no network requests and has no analytics. We never receive this data, and no processor in the list below does.

How to delete it: Clear in the panel removes the history, except the entry for the ratio that is on screen. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored.

Who processes it

Clerk - sign-up and sign-in, and the email that confirms your address.

Cloudflare - hosting for this site and our API.

PlanetScale - hosts the Postgres database that stores your account email and the app’s trading data.

PostHog - analytics for this site and for the app, hosted in the EU. Receives the page views, the clicks on a Get started link, the milestone events described above with their referrer and campaign parameters, your account email and the IP address of your browser; sets no cookies.

What we use it for

To run the product and to know which channels work. Nothing else. No advertising, no profiling, no selling or renting data to anyone.

How long we keep it

Your account and its data are kept while the account exists. Ask us to delete it at any time and we delete it - both our rows and the Clerk account.
